National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, commonly known as NICVD, is Bangladesh's premier government-run cardiac hospital and teaching institution established in 1978 . Situated in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, it offers comprehensive cardiac care--from outpatient consultations to complex tertiary procedures and emergency services . NICVD boasts a 400-bed capacity and treats around 300 outpatients daily. Its clinical services include adult and pediatric cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, intensive care (CCU, ICU, PICU), and state-of-the-art facilities like catheterization laboratories and diagnostic units . Postgraduate training began in 1982/1988, offering MD (Cardiology), MS (Cardiothoracic Surgery), and Diploma in Cardiology. To date, 166 MDs, 99 MSs, and 178 diploma holders have graduated, with all cadres working nationwide and beyond . The hospital also trains nurses and technologists for CCU, ICU, cath lab, and OT services . A milestone achievement occurred on 28 January 2024, when NICVD became the first institution in Bangladesh to perform a remote robotic stent placement surgery under Prof. Pradip Kumar Karmakar . NICVD is organized into clinical, surgical, anesthesiology, pathology, radiology, preventive medicine, and rehabilitation departments, functioning as a central hub for cardiac care, training, and research in Bangladesh . 14-06-2023 National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Bangladesh established in 1978 is a government medical college and cardiac hospital in Bangladesh to provide all type of health care services to cardiac patients. Currently it has new extension building under construction. The hospital is neat & clean in comparatively than other government hospitals. Wards are so spacious, clean & calm environment stays here always. There is also a praying place infront of Emergency gate & Prayer room for womens are at 7th floor. At 2nd floor there is a canteen named Anika Restaurant.

Its is a Government hospital. Best hospital for Cardiologist Patients. It is a cheapest Hospital and doctor's provied Very good services. But staff like word boy & Securities are not good person. They do not anything without money.for all kinds of helps & information and Governments facilities they Demand money. Without money they do not anything. Largest Space available for parking. Also a Canteen available grandfloor of this hospital. And a pharmacy also available. Wheelchair entrances & parking available. Emergency treatment very good.

The Institute was established in 1978 with the aim of establishing modern Cardiovascular care services in the country and to develop trained manpower in this field for the need of country. Besides rendering the best possible services and care for the cardiac patients, Post Graduate medical courses for the doctors were introduced in this in July 1982.

It's a Government hospital. Doctors are try to cure the heart related disease. But hospital environment and management system are not good. I think management committee should take strictly maintain their responsibility. Nurses service are quite good. Now Covid-19 vaccination program on going here.
