Only because of Dr. Biggs Saravanan, the best gastroenterologist in Kerala, we still visit Bharath Hospital. However, the management is poor, and the staff is inadequately trained. While the staff is trying their best, we can still experience their lack of proper training (not referring to nursing care or doctors). This is especially evident with the staff working in the pharmacy, billing, etc. They don't understand the meaning of 'appointment.' I had a 10:00 AM appointment for a scan, but we had to wait in a long queue to get a token. The same issue occurred in other departments as well--either the staff are too busy to assist or they don't communicate properly in Malayalam. P.S. A recent survey found that 8 out of 10 Malayalis are obese. The OP service is on the fourth floor, but the elevator is frequently out of order

The sole reason for our visit to Bharath Hospital is Dr. Anoop (Gastro)... However, the management should take care of the nursing staff and the security personnel, considering their conduct towards patients and bystanders... Following our visit to the outpatient department, we were instructed to go to the casualty for an injection... When I approached the casualty staff, they requested us to wait outside; while this is not an issue, there is a more courteous way to communicate this. I managed to secure a seat for my father, who is 79... The next wait was at the pharmacy... Even at a government ration shop, the queue would be shorter... Some of the staff were engaged in casual conversation... If this is the standard you have established... Well done, management. After enduring all these inconveniences, I brought the car to the reception area to pick up my father... The so-called security personnel began their unprofessional manner of speaking... Dear management, we are not receiving free medication; we are paying for the services rendered... We are also capable of responding in a similarly harsh manner... * Unprofessional staffs ( Nurses and Security )

My recent experience with this hospital for my father's admission was profoundly disappointing and concerning. My father was admitted late night(JULY 10TH) through the ER and subsequently moved to a ward. Despite numerous blood tests and scans, there has been a complete lack of updates or proper care provided to him. Unfortunately, I was abroad at the time and coordinating everything over the phone. My elderly mother, who was the primary bystander, found it incredibly difficult to manage everything on her own. We even had a premium Niva Bupa Aspire Gold Plus insurance policy, which was rejected, forcing us to pay for all services in cash. All these was ok, I do understand the policies and clauses. A basic level of care and empathy, which was completely absent. I attempted to contact hospital authorities by phone multiple times but received no response. UNACCEPTABLE CONDUCT FROM MR.VINOD (PRO) The most shocking part of our experience involved Mr. Vinod, who introduced himself as the PRO of the hospital. When I called to request assistance for my senior citizen mother in getting my father's reports sent via email, Mr. Vinod was exceptionally rude and unhelpful. He arrogantly replied that an official email would need to be sent to "Bharat Hospital" and that they would only reply the next morning "if satisfied." I humbly agreed to send the official email immediately and asked if he could ensure the report would be shared promptly, understanding that office timings are typically 9 am to 6 pm and patient reports are confidential. However, his arrogant attitude was truly surprising. I clearly stated that I had my father's and mother's permission to request the reports and was ready to comply with the official mail request, but his dismissive demeanor was appalling. When I then asked to speak with a superior authority, his response was astonishingly disrespectful. He claimed to be the only superior, stating he "owns the same power that he owns the hospital" and that he alone would decide, refusing any further escalation. Mr. Vinod's behavior was completely unacceptable for someone in a Public Relations role. His profound lack of empathy, unwillingness to assist, and extreme arrogance demonstrate a clear absence of the core values necessary for patient care. It's truly concerning how he could possibly handle other patient complaints with such an attitude. In my opinion, he is not fit to hold a PRO position for even a single day. The overall service was negligent, and the complete lack of consideration for the fact that both my parents are elderly and struggling to manage alone (especially with me being abroad) was appalling. I am utterly dissatisfied with the care provided and will not be returning to this hospital, nor can I recommend it to anyone. Call for Action and Improved Standards Mr. Vinod's behavior demonstrates a severe lack of empathy and a clear disregard for the core values expected in patient care. This kind of conduct not only impacts the immediate family but also undermines the trust placed in your institution. It is imperative that staff in such critical roles possess the emotional intelligence and professionalism to handle patient and family concerns, especially when dealing with elderly individuals and those coordinating remotely. I believe strict action, or at the very least, mandatory re-training on empathy, communication, and patient relations, should be provided to staff members who exhibit such behavior. My intention in raising these points is not merely to complain, but to highlight a critical area where this hospital's service standards are falling short, significantly impacting vulnerable patients and their families. I sincerely hope the hospital management takes these concerns seriously to ensure no other family has to endure such a disheartening experience. Hoping a reply from the management, I sent an official mail also. No reply since these many days. Pathetic management and terrible service with high attitude staffs.

Overpriced, Poorly Managed, and Staff with a Terrible Attitude Don't be misled by the outdated infrastructure and chaotic environment -- Despite looking like a low-budget facility, the charges here are shockingly high. The staff behave as if they are offering free services out of charity, showing zero professionalism or empathy. From OP registration to pharmacy billing, the entire system is a mess, with no proper coordination or process in place. It's complete mismanagement at every step. I genuinely don't understand why people continue to come here when Kottayam has several other hospitals offering better care, cleaner facilities, and a much more respectful experience -- even government hospitals are far more reliable. Strongly not recommended.

I had a very disappointing experience at Bharath Hospital. The overall service was quite poor, and I was especially frustrated by the lack of proper parking facilities. This made the visit even more stressful. I sincerely hope the hospital management takes steps to improve both the service quality and the parking arrangements.
