A hospital offering quality and comprehensive medical treatment for diabetes. Better reach early morning, to be in a less crowded situation. Lots of parking facility. A nice canteen functions here up to 5pm. They have IP facilities too.. Ambience is cool.
Great environment. Helpful staffs and doctors. Good parking area. Shoud have more trash bins on every corner
I had a great experience at the Indian Institute of Diabetes in Thiruvananthapuram -- it truly stands out as one of the best places for diabetes care. The doctors are knowledgeable, and the staff are extremely helpful and organized, which makes the whole process smooth.
It's important to reach early -- the gates open at 6:00 AM, and reaching by 7:00 AM gives you a better chance of avoiding the crowd. Earlier, the token system was a bit confusing, but it has improved significantly and is now mandatory. On your first visit, you'll need to fill an admission form and collect a registration token.
After giving your second (post-meal) blood samples, don't forget to collect a separate doctor consultation token from Counter 1 -- this is different from the initial one and is crucial for seeing the doctor.
Pre-consultation checks (height, BP) in Room No. 1 are mandatory for every visit, as confirmed by the nurse. The dietitian consultation in Room No. 2 is mandatory only on your first visit. ECGs, if needed, are done in Room No. 16 after 8:30 AM.
Lab services are available inside -- I got fasting blood sugar (20), postprandial (20),HbA1c ( 250), and a 25-OH Vitamin D (950) test done, and the rates were very reasonable (total 1240). The doctor consultation fee has been revised from 150 to 170. Payments are accepted via both cash and card. The premises are very clean, there's ample parking, and a canteen is available too.
Once again, I want to emphasize that this is the best diabetic hospital in Trivandrum. It is one of the most affordable centers, with well-educated and knowledgeable doctors and staff who are extremely caring toward patients. Monthly check-ups and all services are well-organized. The only downside is that it can get very crowded, so it's best to visit early in the morning
Looooong wait to get registered. It seems the place opens by 6.30.am. I reached by 7 and I was token no 90+. So best u come early .
Also the take a token on entering. Write your details for new registration on the paper provided on the left side of entrance.
There is parking to the left side of the gate. Keep going till you find a spot.
There are two ways to get here. 1. From ulloor. Take slight left road before reliance smart. Or 2. From kims.. take the road that goes uphill to the airforce base road and ends at 2nd exit next to the diabetic clinic.
You have to take 1st fasting blood test and then 2 hrs later take after food. Bring your own or eat at canteen.
Only then u can see the concerned Dr.
Basic tests costs around 1200.rs.
Be prepared for long wait as there are 100 patients at any given time.
The doctors and general consultation services at IID Trivandrum are commendable, and the overall patient care is satisfactory. However, there is a significant concern regarding the ultrasound (US) scan section. Appointments for scans, even though radiologist available and leisurely the appointments are scheduled 2 to 3 months later, which is a serious issue for patients needing timely and urgent diagnosis.
Many diabetic patients often face prostate and urinary complications that require urgent attention. Unfortunately, IID Trivandrum does not currently have a dedicated urology department, and delays in scan results due to months long appointments hinder proper and timely diagnosis of urology patients from other doctors.
It is kindly requested that the hospital management look into this matter and consider introducing a system for prioritizing urgent urology-related scans. Reducing the waiting period for such cases would greatly improve the quality of care for patients in need.
The Indian Institute of Diabetic truly stands out as a commendable healthcare facility, offering a holistic approach to diabetes management. The institute boasts a team of highly experienced doctors whose expertise in diabetic care is evident in the personalized and effective treatments they provide. The affordability of the treatment options is a significant advantage, ensuring that individuals can access quality healthcare without breaking the bank.
One aspect that could be improved is the pricing of medicines, which, while effective, might be considered on the higher side. However, this is balanced by the overall cost-effectiveness of the institute's services. Additionally, the institute's strategic and easily accessible location adds to its appeal, making it a convenient choice for those seeking reliable diabetic care. Overall, the Indian Institute of Diabetic is a commendable institution, offering a blend of experienced medical professionals, affordable treatments, and convenience for patients.
I highly recommend the Indian Institute of Diabetic for their experienced doctors who provide excellent care.
Renowned hospital have a team of experienced doctors to treat diabetic related illnesses. Seems to be well equipped and well maintained hospital with sufficient parking space. There are different buildings within the premises for consultation, laboratory, IP wards etc. They are keeping an organised structure for the appointments and for consultation. ENT, eye clinic and other lab facilities available. If you are coming from ulloor to bypass road, you need to take left cut on the Puliyanarkotta junction. The hospital is 500mtr away on the right side and it is noticeable from the road.
