My father-in-law had undergone Water Vapour Therapy for prostrate issue.
After some persuasion (as they live in Cochin & Athreya is a bit far off in Thrissur), my in-laws were convinced to consult Athreya and their specialists (under the guidance of Dr. Ram Kumar Menon). After some weeks of medication to reduce the PSA Levels, Urologist suggested Water Vapour Therapy (I have not heard of this procedure before) - a non-intrusive procedure - Thanks to research & technology advancement.
With the expertise Athreya had, the procedure seemed a very simple one (with multiple doctors visiting the patient spending invaluable time to comfort the patient and family). Post procedure, my father-in-law was super happy, super comfortable, confident & much healthier - most importantly, no restriction on his daily life/movements. We have appointment after one week & fingers crossed to remove a simple catheter (which NEVER caused any restrictions for the patient in terms of his daily life & movements)
We are immensely grateful to Atreya Hospital & team for their exceptional care & wonderful human touch, more specifically to very well-known/dearest neurosurgeon, Dr. Ram Kumar Menon & Dr. Jithu Nath, Anaesthetists and nurses.
This hospital, it seemed, a team with highest degree of ethics and gives immense importance/care for human lives & their emotions - my father-in-law got treated like a family member -incredibly caring and supportive.
The hospital's facilities are technologically outstanding. A special thanks to PRO (Ms. Sunita) & team.
We are truly blessed to be in Athreya and in case of any health issues, Athreya would be my first avenue.
1. Ascetics of patient's room can be elevated replacing outdated stuff.
2. Also, provision of tissue rolls would be really useful/professional.
Note:
No intention to blame other hospital (in Cochin) where my in-laws went initially, but the fact is that their approach was casual and didn't even care to ask for basic tests (e.g. PSA) to see the root cause of the problem and straight away suggested to put Urinary Catheter (with a bag to carry in one hand) which would have greatly restricted patient's movements that too without resolving the issue, which would have lead to an open surgery or other later complications (and a most probably a catheter for longer time if not lifelong) I believe.
Some Improvement Suggestions:
The security gaurd Mr Subramanian is not polite with the patients ,He is not allowing to park the vehicle even there if there is free space in parking Area. I am very sorry to say that I will not be coming to the hospital for further treatment because of his bad attitude.
I had a very good experience at Atreya Hospital. The doctors, nurses, and staff were highly professional, caring, and attentive throughout my treatment. The hospital maintains good hygiene and follows proper protocols. I'm truly grateful for the care I received and would definitely recommend this hospital to others.

had a very positive experience with the Neurosurgery Department at Atreya hospital Thrissur. From the moment I walked in, the staff was extremely professional, kind, and helpful. The doctors were highly knowledgeable especially Dr Ramkumar menon and took the time to explain everything clearly, which made me feel confident and comfortable throughout the treatment process.
The hospital maintained excellent hygiene and nursing care was top-notch. The pro side communication help for more relaxation Everything was well-organized and efficient. I truly appreciate the compassion and dedication of the entire team. Thank you for the exceptional care!
Me and my brother both had a Laser Procedure for Gum Disease by Dr. Nithin Selvakumar. The whole process was really good. The doctor was really friendly, caring and smooth. All the nurses were really friendly, caring, and helpful too. We consulted the doctor for regular check-up but Doctor said the disease had just started and it's good we diagnosed it early. I would totally recommend Athreya Hospital and Doctor Nithin for everyone I know. Absolutely brilliant experience.
Today has been a sheer negligence frequently performed by your 2nd floor op nursing station. Everytime i have to ask them to check my temperature . They are least bothered to check my weight for the past one month and they check the weight of other patients. Furthermore they entered my wrong weight and temperature at least two times on different days. Today a fight almost broke out because one stupid nursing sister wearing glasses who made me wait before some patient and told them to enter next. While I was entering before them they told the sister told them to enter first and i explained the scenario resisting the fight. Please train and warn your staff not to commit these blunders again. Kindly dont tempt me to complain again!
Doctors are good. But the staff and management is the worst. I Once went there and the reception took around half an hour. We can understand the delay of there was a croud but there was only 2 patients waiting. Consultation was top class. Admiring. After consultation the pharmacy took around another 1 hour. We cancelled and purchased medicine from outside.
This is what happens if low paid staff are engaged. Should hire a good management and qualified staff. Unpaid and freshers will kill the reputation of the institution.
