I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dr. David Rozario and Narayana Multispecialty Hospital, and I feel the need to share my story. Dr. Rozario's actions were unprofessional, unethical, and manipulative. My father went for an angiography under Dr. Rozario, and after the procedure, he informed us that there was a blockage in one of the arteries. He mentioned that an IVUS (Intravascular Ultrasound) would be done, which would cost 1 lakh, and that it could be claimed through insurance. In an emotional state, my mother was convinced by him. However, after the IVUS, Dr. Rozario pressured my mother to immediately go for an angioplasty, claiming it was necessary right away, even though there was no immediate requirement for the procedure. He insisted that she pay 5 lakh for the angioplasty for just one stent. Is this really justified? The next day, the insurance company questioned the need for the IVUS, especially since the blockage had already been detected through traditional angiography. They rejected the claim, and when I asked Dr. Rozario for an explanation, he stated that he had provided justification for the procedure, but if the insurance company rejected it, there was nothing he could do. I consulted another doctor, who confirmed that after a traditional angiogram, an IVUS wasn't necessary, and the cost of the IVUS was excessive. Dr. Rozario claimed that the cost of the IVUS machine was 1 lakh, which I found highly suspicious. Was the machine brought to the hospital specifically for just one patient? Additionally, Dr. Rozario did not allow a family member to accompany my father to view the blockage, which is a common practice to ensure transparency. Instead, he continuously pressured my mother to agree to the angioplasty. My mother, in her emotional distress, almost agreed to the procedure, but fortunately, my uncle intervened and stopped her. After consulting with another doctor, we were informed that angioplasty was not needed at this time and prescribed medication instead. This doctor also mentioned that an angioplasty for a single stent should cost no more than 1.6 lakh. Dr. Rozario, please stop misleading your patients. Your actions are shameful and unprofessional, and Narayana Multispecialty Hospital should hold you accountable. You are supposed to heal and care for patients, not exploit them for financial gain. Your behavior is inexcusable, and I hope that, one day, karma holds you accountable for the harm you've caused. Shame on you for prioritizing revenue over patient .
