Let me share my experience at the Poona Preventive Cardiology Centre, Pune. I had the opportunity to watch a few videos of Dr.Jyotsna Patil, the key figure running this Preventive Cardiology Centre. Her lectures were very impressive and one statement that she made "People come to me after they have gone through the traumas of cardiac issues like an angioplasty and by-pass surgeries, with worries of facing recurrence. " She repeatedly appeals to people to get tests done so that such cardiac issues can be prevented. I took a cue from this and visited the centre. I am 59 years old. Although my ECG and 2D Echo were normal, there were other parameters which gave an indication, that I may face issues in future.Dr.Jyotsna Patil is very approachable and explained the entire functioning elaborately. I wouldn't be doing justice if I did not mention Dr Mahesh Shinde. He is the key doctor carrying out all the procedures at the centre. But he gives you a feel of being just one of us and answers all the doubts you have with patience. Talking about the cleanliness the discipline of the staff, everything is well taken care of. The entire staff, even the Dietician and the receptionist are very humble and co-operative. One important aspect I wish to mention, is that this treatment takes some time, but the hospital has made arrangements to stay for the up-country patients, in the same building at a very reasonable cost.
