Feedback on Hospital Experience - August 4, 2025
I am disappointed with the experience at this hospital. The treating physicians are not approachable and insist on OPD consultations only, which are limited to about 1.5 hours a day and often hard to access.
Patient attendants are not given proper updates, and we're forced to repeatedly report issues to the ward nurses--only to be met with dismissive or unhelpful responses.
Additionally, the behavior of some security staff, particularly two female guards on the 6th floor on Sunday, August 4, was unnecessarily rude. They even stopped people from sitting in the designated waiting area, which felt unfair and unwelcoming.
We pay money to get treated and the people are so rude and not accountable. Please train your security guards especially to be polite and be gentle not like witches
Overall, the communication, patient care, and attitude of staff need serious improvement.

Good Superspeciality Hospital having qualified Doctors. Front office somewhat chaotic and manned by personnel who did not appear to be patient-friendly. Most of the Doctors do not entertain WBHS.
My Son has admitted to Medica Hospital for Gallstone operation under Dr. Sumanta Dey. He has awesome doctor and patient is really satisfied. Regarding the Medica Hospital it is one of the best in Kolkata. All staff members are not only good but they behave very well. Last but not the least food quality is very good as well. My thanks to all the staff members for taking care My child. Special thanks to Dr. Sumanta Dey for advising robotic chole. Stay blessed sir always.
Thanks a lot
I had an exceptional experience with Dr. Debopriyo Mondal. From the very first consultation, he made me feel comfortable and confident about my treatment plan. His calm demeanor, deep expertise, and willingness to explain everything in detail truly set them apart.
Throughout the treatment, Dr. Debopriyo Mondal was attentive, compassionate, and thorough. He took the time to listen to all my concerns and always made sure I understood the next steps. The results of my treatment were excellent, and I feel much better today thanks to their guidance and care.
I am truly grateful to have found such a dedicated and knowledgeable cardiologist
My Mother was admitted here in Medica for severe pneumonia under Dr. Nandini Biswas. Doctor's behaviour is very good. Here's medical assistance and staff is very good. Food department is very good. Mr. Rajesh Banerjee from food depart. is very good and active. Nurses are very prompt. Overall experience is fantastic.
I had a pleasant experience at this hospital. The nursing department in the private ward on the 6th floor was excellent--attentive, caring, and always available when needed. The housekeeping staff kept everything spotless, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment. The food was satisfactory, meeting basic expectations for hospital meals. Most importantly, the doctors were highly professional and nurturing, providing the best possible care with a reassuring approach.
Overall, a well-managed hospital with a strong focus on patient care and hygiene.
- Very helpful, empathetic and well behaved nursing team (onco department).
- Management staff are well behaved and helpful as well.
- Very good doctors (onco department).
- Very clean and well maintained hospital premises (onco building especially).
- Very good canteen (in onco building).
- The chemotherapy infusion pump was a disaster. If you need infusion pump, explicitly tell the doctor/nursing staff not to give Dosi-Fuser. The thing took approx. 77 hours to finish while the doctor's recommendation was of 48 hours and there's a label on the pump's body that quotes "2 days" (See the attached photos).
- When the nurses requested for something from the ward (e.g. Ostomy bag change, physiotherapist call etc.), it took a long time sometimes, Ex.1 a physiotherapist call was made at 10 AM in the morning but he came at 5:30 PM in the evening. Ex.2 my father's stoma bag leaked at 9 PM at night but he was attended to by a stoma therapist at 1 PM the next day!
Update (11-Feb-2025)
- They have introduced a Patient Experience Program where a dedicated team, lead by Ms. Aparajita, takes care of your convenience regarding the services provided by the hospital. Do reach out to her if you need any assistance regarding anything. She has been of great help to us.
- A major surgery is pending for my father in the coming month. Would revisit this review after the procedure to share our experience. Let's see if I can add the fifth star to this review.
