A Very Disappointing Experience at Jivraj Mehta Hospital
I want to share a deeply upsetting experience we had at Jivraj Mehta Hospital during a recent treatment. After undergoing a major surgery at the age of 70, he deserved attentive and professional care--but sadly, the hospital failed on many levels.
The staff assigned were mostly young interns who seemed to lack even basic medical skills. They struggled with simple procedures like inserting a needle properly and couldn't explain why IV fluid was leaking from the vessel. Their behavior was rude and careless, showing little empathy or professionalism.
We were told the doctor would arrive by 8 AM, but he showed up almost 7 hours later. This kind of delay is unacceptable in a hospital environment, especially when patients are in critical condition.
Post-surgery care was shockingly poor. Instead of keeping the patient in the ICU for proper observation and healing for 6-7 days, they shifted him to a normal room just 3 days after surgery. It felt like they were more focused on clearing space than actually caring for the patient.
While we are grateful that my Nana survived the surgery, the lack of proper post-operative care and the unprofessional attitude of the staff made this a painful and frustrating experience. A hospital should be a place of healing, but here, we constantly had to worry about whether our loved one was truly safe.

Recently we have visited the hospital, getting treatment of eyes, each and every NEW arrangements are excellent, only thing co ordination is missing. On the arrival of any patient no body guide them properly, everybody is busy with their work. Even no body are ready to provide stature facilities easily you have to work hard for that. Otherwise the rest is perfect, in my opinion organisation must train their lower level staff to change their attitude towards client friendly and organisation friendly too.
Another critical department at the hospital is Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery, which addresses diseases affecting the organs within the chest. We the common man are thankful from bottom of our heart to the DONORS who envisage the latest and advance facilities for middle class people of the area with their financial support.
After seeing numerous advertisements around the city, I decided to visit this hospital for my mother's neck pain.
On the first visit, the doctor diagnosed it as pain caused by a cough and prescribed 15 days of medication. After completing the course, we returned for a follow-up, only to be referred to a surgeon. The surgeon then told us the issue was related to a toothache!
It felt like we were being used for trial-and-error diagnosis rather than receiving proper treatment. There was no clear explanation or coordination between the doctors. To make things worse, we had to pay consultation fees twice for two different doctors - even though the first diagnosis was completely off track.
This experience has left us very frustrated. It seems like the hospital is more focused on charging fees than genuinely helping patients. If there was an option to give negative stars, I definitely would.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to all the surgeons specialist Dr. Mehul Mehta , anaesthetic specialist Dr kedar Mehta, medical officers Dr Monika , Dr vishal and hospital staff who cared for my Father during my father's recent gallbladder operation.
From the moment I arrived, I felt reassured and in safe hands. The professionalism, compassion, and attentiveness shown by everyone--from the surgeons who performed the procedure with such expertise to the caring nurses and support staff--made a world of difference during a challenging time.
A special thank you to the surgical team for their skill, the nursing staff for their constant support and care, and everyone else behind the scenes who ensured that my father's recovery was smooth and comfortable. Every small act of kindness did not go unnoticed.
Thank you once again for your dedication and exceptional service. I will always be grateful for the excellent care I received.
Thank you all Dr jivraj mehta staff.
Thank you so much
With warm regards

My father was rushed to Dr. Jivraj Mehta Hospital on 23rd March 2025; as that was the nearest hospital. At the Emergency there were 5 Male nurses sitting at the Emergency Door, I walked in and asked for help; all 5 looked at me as if I was an align and did not respond, so I asked for help again with a harsh tone; that's when one of the male nurse asked me "Where is the patient"? I clearly mentioned he is in the car and I need help - they were least interested... ONLY because they were busy watching the IPL match. Furious I had to scream and put my message across by asking if they will help me bring the patient or should I do it by myself and banged the glass door, that's when one of them followed me to the car.
As we had to admit him for an emergency surgery we booked the VIP room for him; AND the VIP room was a "(V) VERY (I) INAPPROPRIATE (P) PLACE" for any patient, was smelling of urine and had mosquitoes. Then the staff walked in, filthy looking people, I would say homeless people would dress and look better than the staff there. The Attendant came, it seemed as if he did not have a bath for months... (that's his problem) said as the patient needs to be taken for surgery, he need to do the shaving. Surgery was a cystoscopy; he did the shaving the left; BUT the actual apart is, the patient had blood all over his shirt and the attendant did not even bother to inform us not the Jivraj Mehta Hospital. When I created a scene we came to know he shaved the patient's chest and according to him accidently cut the nipple. How not sure; but basic common sense of informing the staff so they could take care of the problem. Lack of training and communication.
Then comes the surgery: The patient is taken to the OT, but how - he was not in a condition to walk; yet the staff tells him "You will have to walk to the OT" after questioning the staff they bring in a broken wheelchair.... god knows what would have happened in the OT; the patient is shifted into ICU, the worst place - it smelt, had mosquitoes, the staff was screaming, in a nutshell a fish market would be a better place.
The patient was shifted in the so called VIP room the next day, half drowsy and not in a condition to move - the staff tells him to shift from the bed they got him on to the room bed by himself, and to my surprise there were two female attendants with him, I believe rather than females a male attendant should be given the responsibility of shifting patients.
The Doctor - Neel Patel, there must be 5 stars or great reviews about him; but my experience was that doctors need to be knowledgeable and not book worms - the doctor seemed to be stuck with the chapter he must have mugged up "Irrigation Process", post surgery there was no check-up nor tests done to see the outcome of the surgery, all the time the doctor and medical officers checked on the irrigation bag to see if the had blood or not... this went on for three day at Jivraj Mehta, and then we were told you can take the patient to another hospital if you want as this is all we could do, fair enough atleast we were told we could shift the patient...
Shifting the Patient - Finally we decided to shift my dad to CIMS Hospital, at the time of discharge; no vitals were checked, we did not have anyone come and help with the changing of clothes, we were not told anything about the medicines or other details that we had to take into consideration post discharge. It was like we had committed a crime in shifting the patient - but we did so as we were told to do so.
2/2 to be continued on my next review due to word restrictions...
Dr. Aditi Bhardwaj is an amazing gynecologist. She removed my mom's uterus a year ago, and we are really happy with how everything went. She explained everything clearly, made us feel comfortable, and took great care of my mom before and after the surgery.
The operation went smoothly, and my mom recovered well. Dr. Aditi is kind, patient, and very good at what she does. We're very thankful to her and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a good and caring doctor.
Worst experience...
My grandmother was in ICCU and we just wanted to check cardiac conditions.
They don't have basic ECHO machine.
We were waiting for echo report for 24 hours but they are saying we have only 2 machines.
One is not working and second is in emergency department.
No doctors available to attend her ECHO.
According to their staff, All cardiac doctors are very busy to check my Grandmother.
And we have taken discharge without any report.
Worst worst service for cardiac or old patients.
I have been a patient of Dr. Aditi Bhardwaj in Jivraj Mehta hospital and couldn't have asked for a better gynecologist. I underwent fibroid removal surgery under her care, and my entire experience -- from the initial consultation to post-surgery follow-ups -- has been excellent. She takes the time to truly listen, explains everything clearly and patiently, and ensures that both the patient and their family feel informed and reassured. Her compassionate and thorough approach made a big difference throughout my treatment journey.
