Dr. Abhijit Vilas Kulkarni is one of the best cardiologists in Bangalore. He has been consulting my father since 2019 and is now treating both my parents with exceptional care and expertise. We are truly grateful for his guidance, professionalism, and dedication.
Very disappointing experience.
Even after having an appointment, we had to wait for 1.5 hours. The doctor checked my mother for barely 2 minutes and immediately recommended ECG and Echo tests. These tests took nearly 3 hours because there was only one lab, and the waiting time was too long.
Once the reports were ready, the doctor was unavailable. The receptionist asked us to send the reports on WhatsApp. After waiting for 5 hours while my mother was in pain, this kind of response was very frustrating. It felt like we were paying for an online consultation instead of proper in-person care.
The next day, when I told the doctor that the medicine didn't help at all, he simply said, we need to do angiography, without giving any proper explanation or discussion.
For a hospital like Apollo, this was a very robotic and disappointing experience. Everything felt automated, with no personal attention. They seemed more focused on making money than truly helping patients.
I always believed Apollo was one of the best hospitals, which is why I chose the Dr. Abhijit. But now it feels like they are not very professional and don't really care about the patient.
Doctor is a very kind man. He helped my aunt a great deal in her surgery and recovery. He eases you with your worries about surgery also. I 100% recommend him to every patient.
I am a cardiac patient of Dr Abhijit Kulkarni from the last 5 years. He gives the service with a smile, so when any patient visits him half of the issues are resolved with his smile. Recently he handled some major blocks of mine with his expertise. I am really grateful to him for his timely treatment and explanation. Such doctors are great assets to the hospital.
I am 67 years old retired person from Belgavi. I have not seen a doctor as rough,as rude,as arrogant,as unmannered & as uncivilized as this man is.He has no manners.I have seen in my 67 years of life many vegetable venders, the grocery venders & even the laundry men with better & more decent manners than this man.He also does know how to behave with his patients & more particularly the senior citizens like me.
On 29th July 2020,Apollo Hospital gave me an appointment with this person.I don't feel like calling him a doctor,as he has no basic qualities required for this holy profession on planet .
My wife had little pain in her chest & we decided to go to Apollo hospital instead of going to a local hospital. We came to this man all the way from Belgavi traveling 600 kms. For any cardiac issues , the doctors normally ask patients to take ECG test FIRST. But this highly learned man asked us to take ECHO test (Rs.2245 )FIRST & when he found NOTHING WRONG ,he then told us to take TMT test (Rs.2245) immediately. And when that was also found absolutely FINE ,he THEN told us that we may have to take "Angiography" test after 8 days (costs Rs 26,000).We were very much scared by his way of his expression & explanation.REMEMBER, her B.P. was 110/70 and Pulse Oximeter reading was 98 just before meeting this idiot. Then he gave some medicines but skipped to write mode of eating ( before/after food). After purchasing medicines at Apollo pharmacy, I once again went to him for clarification, but he was not available in his room. I thought instead of waiting for long time again, better to request this small information over his WhatsApp.
Accordingly, I took pictures of his prescription & sent him requesting for clarification. I thought not to disturb this "highly (un)learned doctor " by calling on his mobile. He saw & read my message SOON but did not bother to respond to my request even after an hour . Still, I thought may be he is busy . Finally, I had no other options but to call him on his mobile disturbing him for just 20 seconds .He furnished the information but told me arrogantly that we are NOT supposed to call on him to mobile phone & also asked angrily who gave me his number. To me ,he also looked absent-minded.Because he has his number on his letter pad itself. When I asked him then why he forgot to write prescription properly, he said that the patients should ASK him if necessary. Just watch this man & his arrogance. He is a M.D. doctor & thinks that it is the duty of patients to ask mode of taking medicines & NOT his duty. Then I told him if writting details on prescription is not his duty, then he is UNFIT to call himself a doctor. He called me 'idiot'.See his manners .I wanted to teach him a lesson, but he disconnected the call immediately .Therefore, I only reciprocated him mildly. He may be a Heart Doctor, but he needs to consult a BRAIN doctor soon.Otherwise, people may call him a mannerless Veterinary doctor.
In hospitals like Apollo, where the patients come even from foreign countries & we have such a doctor sadly. Not only this, his arrogance was also very much noticeable during our discussion with him in his room. If this is the manner he is exhibiting to a senior citizens , just imagine his nature and gravity of his attitude would be towards other patients particularly the female patients.
So If I get a Chance to visit the hospital again, I have decided to teach him what the manners means. This man needs to learn some " lessons on manners ". I can only hope that the hospital authorities will take note of my feedback & take appropriate action including removal this man.Such people I feel, work just for the sake of their SALARY but never bother about patients wellness. They certainly bring bad name to the hospitals. I know, Apollo is one of the best hospitals in Bengaluru. Now, with the same reports, I will go to another doctor, and let me see. What they say.. But I will certainly post another review after meeting another Cardiologist at Belgavi. Please keep waiting.
