Terrible Experience at Med Star Hospital - 04 June 2025, 11:00 PM We had an extremely distressing and traumatic experience at Med Star Hospital, and I believe it's important to share this for the awareness of others. My sister had a high fever and severe body pain, so we rushed her to the emergency section around 11:00 PM. What followed was deeply unprofessional and careless medical handling. 1. Unsafe and Unhygienic Emergency Care A staff member came to collect a blood sample. Shockingly, he was not wearing a mask, gloves, or even a white coat. He pricked her 2-3 times, causing excessive bleeding and visible discomfort. Instead of controlling the bleeding, he was wiping it without stopping the flow. I had to intervene and ask him to apply pressure to the vein, and even worse--he asked me, a bystander, to help collect the blood sample. There was blood on the bed, her hand, and on the floor. And throughout this ordeal, there were no nurses or doctors present. 2. Room Not Ready & Patient Left in Corridor Once the sample was taken, we were told she would be admitted and shifted to a room on the third floor. However, the room wasn't ready, and despite my sister being in visible pain, we were told to wait in the corridor for 20 minutes. There was no sense of urgency or concern for her condition. 3. Rude, Dismissive, and Blaming Attitude I tried to speak to the doctor to express concern about the treatment and delay. He refused to talk, directing me to the reception. The person at the reception was rude, dismissive, and even blamed the patient, saying she was "too dramatic" and blamed us for not waiting outside the room. 4. Not Mental Health Friendly My sister was already in distress from the pain and repeated pricking. She was visibly anxious, nearly panicking. At this point, a doctor walked in, told her to "open her eyes and see it", and said, "You're in the best hands," despite her clearly stating she was uncomfortable and didn't want to watch the procedure. She was verbally pressured to stay alert and watch, completely disregarding her anxiety. It was deeply insensitive and mentally traumatising. 5. Forced Advance & Delayed Discharge Before even going to the room, we were forced to pay 10,000 in advance. Later, when we decided to discharge her due to the poor experience and shift to another hospital, they delayed the discharge, citing some internal discussion about refunding the advance. It felt more like a bureaucratic trap than a medical facility. Final Word We eventually left and got her admitted to another hospital, where she received timely and respectful care. Med Star Hospital failed miserably on all fronts--professionalism, hygiene, empathy, and basic patient rights. This place is not safe for emergency care and certainly not sensitive to mental health needs. I strongly caution others against seeking treatment here.

I wanted to share my positive experience at the hospital. The facility is very good and well-maintained, particularly regarding cleanliness. Dr. Vinutha Mam provided excellent care for my baby. I found the hospital to be superior for maternity services compared to other hospitals, and the pediatric care was also commendable. Additionally, I would like to inform you that you can use your health insurance without any further delays at this facility.

My wife lakshmi devi got admitted at medstar under Dr and she underwent Right Hemithyroidectomy. Symytoms was she had difficulty in swallowing and swelling was also there so when we met the doctor he suggested go get the surgery done and we went a head and got the surgery and today we are getting discharged. We are so happy and blessed that we got into this hospital be it doctor nurses housekeeping all were really awesome. We really never felt we were at hospital we felt we were at home. I was admitted here for a week due to an accident. The doctors were highly professional, and the nursing staff was extremely caring and attentive. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and I felt well taken care of throughout my stay. Grateful for the support and treatment I received here. Highly recommended!

My nephew sanjay was admitted for Tumor excision of Right Proximal femur and curettage done under SA under Dr Ranjit. The treatment in ICU was very good with very supportive staff. Overall the hospital is very good. Much needed hospital in this locality with good facilities and experienced Doctors and Nursing staff. House keeping ensures hospital is clean with regular audits.

My motherBharathi is a diabetic patient and she had a right diabetic foot ulcer and she underwent a surgery Arthoplasty by Dr Sanjeev sharma. He explained us in detail and later we agreed to the surgery. Today we are getting discharged. The services was really good be it nursing housekeeping they were at their best. Thank you Medstar.
